The 2009 National Standard Pistol Champion is Paul Flanagan of Rathdrum Rifle & Pistol Club. In winning the competition, Paul also set a new Irish record of 537 beating the previous record of 536 set by Joe O'Donohoe in 2007. Second was Peter Friend of Addiscombe and Rathdrum with a score of 524 and third was Caroline O'Brien of Rathdrum Rifle & Pistol Club with a personal best of 510. Due to issues with people not having their new licences, the turnout was lower than previous years, but a few new faces turned up and were very welcome indeed.
