Congratulations to Siobhan Scarlett who is the Wicklow Open 2018 Champion. Siobhan (Dublin University Rifle Club) stormed into the final with a very impressive 621+ score in qualification with 39 inner 10s. In the final Siobhan took the lead at around the 12 shot and her consistency and accuracy resulted in a 5.7 point winning margin over Sean R Baldwin of the Defence Forces Shooting Team. Peter Daynes of Rathdrum Rifle & Pistol Club claimed Bronze.

RRPC were delighted to have a total of 3 finalist on the day with shooters Val Pierce and Nick West joining Peter. Afterwards a slow but very tasty BBQ was held with lots of food and craic had. A huge thanks to all that participated on the day, Kealan Symes for running the final and all those who helped with the BBQ.

The 2018 April Open was won by Siobhan Scarlett of DURC. Siobhan led from the start followed by David Franklin of the Defence Forces until the 21st shot when Conor McDermottroe overtook him. The late charge from Conor wasn't enough to overcome the 4 point deficit and he eventually finished 4.1 points behind Siobhan's 250.6 final score. David Franklin came third with 225.4. Thanks to everyone for turning up and taking part and especially Shauna Sutton who ran a flawless final.

The Spring Special was won by Terry Wearen of the Defence Forces with a final score of 245.8. Terry took the lead from club chairman Nick West after the 19th shot of the 24 shot final, Nick having stormed into an early lead with a succession of high inner tens including a 10.9. Conor McDermottroe came third with a score of 220.1 behind Nick who finished second on 242.7. Many thanks to all who turned up and competed and especially to Sean Baldwin who ran the final for us. The next competition is the April Open on April 15th. Full results are below.

The February Open was won by Stephen Murphy of Dublin University Rifle Club with a final score of 248.2. In second place with a score of 244.3 was Siobhan Scarlett and Ivan De Wergifosse came third with a score of 222.5.

The Leinster Indoor Open was won by Sean Baldwin of the Defence Forces with a record final score of 255.6 beating the previous record of 250.7 set by Siobhan Scarlett in the Wicklow Open. In second place was Terry Wearen also of the Defence Forces with a final score of 254.4 and in third place was Liam Kinsella of Dublin Rifle Club.

The DURC Open was won by Conor McDermottroe of DURC. In the final, Conor led from the start but was slowly overhauled by Ray Kane of the Defence Forces who overtook Conor on the 19th shot by 0.1. Ray increased his lead to 0.7 by the 22nd shot, but a remarkable final two shots of 10.9 and 10.8 from Conor put the title out of reach of Ray who trailed by 1.0 at the end. Siobhan Scarlett of DURC came third. The high standard continues with scores in excess of 605 being required to make the final. Results are as follows:
